Anne Quinn Workshop – Emotional Eating and Body Image
November 10 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm$60
Join Anne Quinn for ‘Emotional Eating and Body Image’, as seen from an Eastern Medicine perspective.
Many food cravings and eating habits come from deeper roots. For many, food is a source of comfort, relief, even a coping mechanism when we are under stress ,or experi-encing negative emotions such as loneliness, sadness, boredom or emptiness. When you eat out of stress you temporarily DISTRACT yourself out of negative emotions, yet they always return once the food intake is over. That’s why we call it “stuffing” our faces. Yet, what we’re really stuffing is our feelings. This is often followed by a tsunami of guilt, shame, remorse and a solemn vow to be “GOOD “tomorrow. Is it possible to change your feelings toward eating? It absolutely is. But it requires more than simply being “good” and making superficial changes. It involves a lifestyle review and a commitment to yourself and your physical. mental and emotional health. Won’t you join us as we view food, and our relationship to it, in an entirely new way?
